Let's face it, if you've stumbled into this small corner of the net there's a pretty good chance that you're a fan of the franchise. I've been playing since the start and have spent far too many hours trying to figure out the 1's and 0's.
I figured I'd get the party started. There are a few things that I'd love to see incorporated into the game. In no particular order:
1. Hiring/Firing Coaches- We all know how important a coaching staff is in the NFL and I think Jim has done a pretty good job adding an element of depth to the game. My biggest wish here is that we had more control over our choices. I miss the old days where we had a 3 sim window to make offers to coaches. The staff draft for me has always been a huge miss IMO as it really limits the amount of control you have. I've also always hoped for a way to make a coaching change mid season.
2. In-Season Renegotiations - IMO, this was one of the worst things that ever happened to the franchise and totally killed trading in MP.
There is more, but I figured this will get the ball rolling...

How you hire and fire coaches in definitely one of the worst aspects of the game. I've been trying to get rid of LaMarr Woodley for the last 3 seasons in the RZB. Meanwhile it seems like the game ignores your settings that you set anyways. If I went through the available coaches in the RZB right now I bet I could find a better coach for almost every part of my staff.
I really don't get the point of getting rid of in-season negotiations. It's not like that's how it works in the NFL. It might be interesting if in the future you could offer player incentive based contracts.

I wonder if maybe the draft should be an all season thing. It probably is the best part of the game. A time when everyone is involved, good and bad teams. Scouting could be extended. Know the class much earlier and send a scout out during the season. Maybe one in depth per week.
I think players personality needs developing to have real impact on the game. Meaningful impact. With salary negs and penalties. Holdouts. Etc, etc.
Learning. Improving. Some players you be more able to learn and improve according to their personality. We should be able to really key on a certain attribute of a certain player and train him up. Flat out speed, very little improvement can be made, but route running much more so. Again according to the players ability to be coached and coaching staffs ability.
I could go on all night. Dreaming probably!

I like the draft idea. You could have college stats, players moving up and down the draft boards every week dependent on their performances.
The thing is, would players tank knowing what the draft class is going to reveal? That's my only doubt

I'd like to coach my team, so i could maybe put the emphasis on one part of my team in practise prior to each game, so give my PR a boost or DBs or whatever.

While I don't enjoy Madden anymore, one thing Front Office could take from it is the college story lines that it creates about players during the season. It would talk about big performances from the prospects or injuries. One little thing they could add is college stats to prospects resumes. It could be similar to combine ratings. Just another dimension to add to drafting. It's too bad there's not a good college football front office game. I think it would be fun to have a college league and the NFL league combined where the guys that graduate from college end up in the draft file for the NFL league. Would add another dimension too. Could have our own versions of "suck for Luck" or teams tanking because they think this once in a lifetime QB is going to enter the draft.

I also use most on all the other options, just to cover all the bases.

Same, but I just can't get rid of LaMarr Woodley for some reason. Lifetime contract, lol. Have you been setting him at 100? I've tried 100 and 99 because someone mentioned they thought 99 works better. Apparently the game just doesn't think that there's anyone better.
